It could be a 5 star

I mostly like this app because for the most part it aggregates the best features of the other vendor apps and it serves as the hub for my HomeKit devices. My problem has been with the triggers capability which Ive yet to get working properly. A simple "turn off the porch light at 11:00 pm" trigger doesnt work [for me] and emails to the vendor with questions go unresponded. For a free app or one of those 1.99 deals I probably wouldnt complain but $15 was a big step up and Im kind of regretting this purchase now. Another kvetch is trying to use the sunrise and sunset events in the trigger feature and then reading in the authors faqs that Apple isnt supporting these triggers in HomeKit yet. I have to ask then why they are options in the app if this is the case. So Ill keep using this app because it seems to be the best available but Im guessing Apple will release their own HomeKit app soon and I expect itll be a nice step up.

Good app if you live by yourself

This app will not let people living with you create triggers or scenes even tho there are invited to HomeKit, meaning when I get home my lights turn on, lock unlock and AC set itself to the setup temp but that will not happen with my wife. Thats not the app problem as I found out, its HomeKit problem , so lets start to call Apple so they can fix this problem, for what it worth, I already did.

For lighting remotely you need Apple TV 3 Generation

I wasted my money buying this. To use this app remotely for your lights this app only works with Apple TV 3rd G. It did not clear stated it - I discovered reading the app instructions AFTER I purchased it. Just get the IFTTT which is free and you can control your lights remotely by creating receipts or using some that are ready from IFTTT library.

Great

Seriously worth it considering the competition

Triggers working better now but still a guessing game

The trigger setup is not very intuitive. However, at least the developer is giving it a shot. I cant believe there are not any other options in the app store.

Always Improving

This app has pretty much all of the functionality of HomeKit. To me, it is essential for any iOS (and therefore HomeKit) smart home and well worth the price. Developers are sending out regular updates and the app works great.

The one to get

This HomeKit app is the one to get. Its a little rough around some of the edges, but for the sheer amount of control it gives you, those rough edges are easily forgiven. The app is still receiving meaningful updates and is well worth the money.

Great app and getting better

This app is a great central hub for all my HomeKit related items and the UI is easy to use. Also, this developer is active and willing to help if there are any "issues." After I found a bug, it was great to see it address in the recent update. Its worth the money!

Error! Error! Error!

Keep your money! This app is not worth $15... Maybe $.99, but definitely not $15! Positive: - Great response time from tech support. - A plethora customization options - Groups Opportunities: - Interoperability... This thing never works reliably well. After the update, all my Philips Hue bulbs indicate "Error" and no information is provided to remedy the problem. - The app only works when the app wants to work and youll have to deal with it, because when you write to the support team, every response is a variation of "contact Philips Hue" or "its Apples Fault and they need to fix it first."

The one and only

This app should have been a native iPhone app.

Good but needs more apple standardization

Home kit is a tricky concept when you get into it. There is no "app" that is available, rather it uses various controls native and deeply embedded into the iOS. This app helps bridge the gap that Apple has left without a dedicated app. This app takes the major controls from home kit enabled apps and works to blend them into one. Lighting, thermostat, motion and more are collected and culled into an alphabetical order off the main screen. Across the bottom is a group of tabs that allow you to set each device as well as group devices by room and zone. You may also set triggers that activate scenes based on time or other events. (I said home kit was a little complicated!) The goal of the app is to easily allow smart devices that would not easily play with other smart devices a way to see and work as a whole group. This app achieves this goal and therefore I feel is successful. What I see missing is a roadmap sharing the next round of new features and a time table of when they will come out, (an app of this price should have one). Also, collecting user feedback in a way that the user knows if a question has been asked or a solution has been provided might take some repetitive answering away from the developer. As far as some features that a $15 app is missing are the items that the other apps have. At this price, most everything should be available that is available in the devices native app. Here are a couple examples: This app is missing some "best of breed" options that are native to other smart device apps. When setting a time trigger, the Phillips Hue app allows you to pick the days of the week; this allows an easy way to set a weekday or weekend trigger. Other apps allow a Hue light the option to strobe. These items are missing from the Home app. Now, this is not a simple app and getting it to talk with all the other early versions of HomeKit enabled device apps is a feat. This app gets the basics accomplished when it comes to merging various apps together, but in doing so, is lacking is some "over-the-top" controls. As mentioned, at this price point I would expect almost every option for every device to be available. Now, this app will do everything the smart device apps will do but in a slightly less intuitive manner (in some cases). It is missing the ability to choose scenes by the day of week. If you want a scene to fire only on Mondays and Fridays, it will be a major effort. If you want the same scene everyday it is easy; but on weekends a different schedule would be nice. It is the only thing that is out there at the moment so it is the natural leader. Hopefully it will improve and stay the leader.

Waste of Money

Does not work with my Nest or Harmony Hub. The website is extremely misleading and I thought it would work but I was painfully wrong. So I basically was tricked out of $15 by Apple.

Best HomeKit app out there

Developer is very responsive fixing reported issues and its all very much appreciated. This is definitely the gold standard in HomeKit implementation, but the interface is a bit bare bones. Very functional though and thats all the really matters.

By far the best HomeKit app

This app is the one place where all of my devices can controlled from. I am impressed with the ability to have the different devices interact with each other. Pro: 1. Interoperability of devices 2. All of my devices so far are working 3. Ability to set device operating time 4. Ability to set device operating conditions Con: 1. Price 2. Should have better instructions available This is a good app, I am waiting for greater things in future releases, because this is the app that HomeKit should of shipped with! Keep up the good work.

An expensive app for all the bugs it has

Frequently doesnt send the brightness settings to the light when changed, nor detect correctly the status of the light (all these work with other apps)

Not much there

Read a review on Imore that was very generous. Sadly, I didnt do enough research and spent the 15 bucks before I realized that this app only supports Apple HomeKit and nothing else. Wish it brought more to the game. Even the app Eve (which is Free) does more. My fault, but buyer beware!

The best, by far

This is the missing HomeKit app, without a doubt. My only quibble is that the latest update adds support for Groups, which is nice, but it conflates them with Zones in a confusing way. I get the desire to simplify, but I use groups and zones for different things, so seeing the automatically-created zone-based "groups" in the Groups tab is strange. Beside that, its a solid app for managing HomeKit devices.

Terrible interface. Way too expensive.

This app looks pretty, but is very difficult to use. Plan to spend a LOT of time getting everything set up. Basically a rip off for the obnoxiously high price.

Dont waste your money.

I gave this app a fair chance but I was having issues with syncing. I set up the app on my iPad for it was much easier and when I installed app on my iPhone all the devices would not completely sync. Or my groups created on my iPad would be missing some devices on my iPhone and could not be added because they dont even show up in my accessories. Support said to sign out and sign back into iCloud which I had done numerous times with no avail. I even deleted the apps on both devices in attempts to force sync on re installation of app. I reset my Lutron bridge and hue bridge with still no success. So good luck if you still want to try.

Great Start!

I have to commend the author for the responsiveness to my questions related to HomeKit. This application has been great and most of the issues are related to Apple and HomeKit and not the application itself. The syncing issue is all on Apple and not this, or any other developer, as I have noticed even my Apple TV that is a bridge took almost a day to sync the correct information. Having a home automation system that has over 50 devices and over 100 data/monitor points, adding a HomeKit bridge to that setup and setting up 15 of the devices to be bridged, allows a quick way on my iPhone and iWatch to control some specific lights quickly. Yes, HomeKit and this app have a long way to go, but I think it is a great start and hope that Apple can iron out the wrinkles before people move on to other home automation systems.
